The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) released the 2020 "Top Bottleneck List". I-95 / SR-4 in Fort Lee, NJ topped the list followed by Atlanta's I-285 / I-85 "Spaghetti Junction" Interchange and I-24/I-40 at I-440 (East) in Nashville, TN. The ATRI rankings attempt to quantify truck congestion as a function of average speed through the bottlenecks and the volume of truck traffic. ATRI found that the number of locations experiencing significant congestion has increase 92% in the last five years. |
