EnvironmentEnvironmental considerations are an important aspect of freight transportation planning, project development and operations. Working with other DOT agencies and Office of Planning and Environment, the Office of Freight Management and Operations initiates studies to examine the relationship between freight transportation and the environment. Environment includes both the human (community, economics and historic preservation, etc.) and natural environment (water quality, wildlife habitat, etc.). Environmental studies are listed here. Links to related Web sites are also provided.
