The USDOT Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (RITA) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) published the December 2019 Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) on February 12, 2020. The TSI fell 0.9% from November to December to its lowest level since August 2018. The index fell 0.8% for the 2019 year, the first annual decline since 2015. For December, decreases are were seen in rail intermodal, rail carloads, trucking and pipeline. Water and air freight increased. |
