A U.S. District Court judge granted a temporary restraining order on December 31, 2019 preventing enforcement of California's Assembly Bill 5. Assembly Bill 5 prevents trucking companies from hiring owner-operators as independent contractors. On January 13, 2020, the court will consider a motion for a preliminary injunction.
