In December 2019, California approved the use of light-duty (less than 10,001 pounds) autonomous delivery vehicles. Companies will need to apply for a special permit with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Despite attempts by Governor Cuomo, autonomous vehicles are not currently on public roads in New York. At this time, all autonomous vehicle testing in New York is restricted to private roads and complexes. |
