The USDOT Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (RITA) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) published the September 2019 Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) on November 14, 2019. After reaching an all-time high in August, the TSI fell 2.5 percent. The September 2019 TSI also fell compared to September 2018 TSI. The drop appeared across multiple sectors including water, rail car loads, trucking, pipeline, and air freight. Rail intermodal increased slightly. |
