Heavy flooding has affect 16 Midwestern states, inundating roads and damaging property. To help with relief efforts, FMCSA has relaxed hours-of-service regulations in those 16 states for haulers providing direct assistance to emergency efforts. Parts 390-399 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations are affected by this exemption. The emergency declaration will remain in effect for the duration of the emergency or until April 18th, whichever comes sooner. |
