Innovative Bridge Designs for Rapid Renewal

Description:	TRB's second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP 2) Renewal Project R04 has released a prepublication, non-edited draft version of a report titled Innovative Bridge Designs for Rapid Renewal that documents the development of standardized approaches to designing and constructing complete bridge systems for rapid renewals. The aim of this project was to develop pre-engineered standards for modular bridge substructure and superstructure systems that can be installed with minimal traffic disruptions. This project provides design standards and design examples for complete prefabricated bridge systems. The report also describes a demonstration project that was completed in 2011 using the ABC standards developed as part of Renewal Project R04.
