How Does the Advanced Snowplow Cutting Edge Work?

The advanced snowplow cutting edge attaches to a snowplow blade mounted underneath a maintenance truck.

The cutting edge is mounted on the blade at a very slight angle to the pavement. This angle provides high horizontal force—the force that scrapes ice and compacted snow from the pavement—and a low vertical force, which translates into good control of the vehicle. The cutting edge makes ice and snow removal operations more effective while keeping plow drivers safely in control of their vehicles.

The cutting edge is made of tungsten carbide—a metal that stays sharp longer than conventional steel blade edges.
