Title:

Reporting Winter Events to Traffic Management Centers: Research and Best Practices

Abstract:

As the WisDOT TOC prepares to meet its expanded role as a statewide Traffic Management Center for critical winter events, it is actively addressing the need to develop new protocols, including procedures for reporting and documenting winter storms, incidents, winter road closures, and winter traffic events to a state or regional traffic control center. This report summarizes information on research and best practices relating to these procedures.
