Figure 49 is a line graph showing the results of the sensitivity analysis. The horizontal axis represents the rate of traffic (in vehicles per hour) and the vertical axis represents the vehicle delay per 10 minute time period (in vehicles-minute). Varying headway expansion factors are represented by different curves (20 percent, 30 percent, 40 percent, 50 percent and 60 percent). The graph shows that a 40 percent percent increase in work zone headway can be associated a capacity of 1,250 vehicles per hour per lane.
