Model Systems Engineering Documents for Adaptive Signal Control Technology (ASCT) Systems

Figure 4. Relationships between This Guide and Final Documents

This flow diagram describes the structure of this document as it relates to the development of system engineering documents for ASCT systems, including the concept of operations, system requirements, validation plan, and verification plan documents.

Across the top of the diagram is a bar divided into five segments representing the guidance document. Parts B and C describe the process, Part D provides concept of operations Guidance, Part E provides requirements guidance section, Part F provides verification guidance, and Part G provides validation guidance.

Part D, the concept of operations guidance section, describes the concept of operations statements table (listed in appendix B), and how these statements can be used in the concept of operations template (Appendix A). The concept of operations statements can be used with the concept of operations template to create concept of operations document.

Part E, requirements guidance, describes requirements statements (table) and the requirements template (in Appendix A), which can be used to create a requirements document. The requirements template feeds into the validation document.

Part F, verification guidance, describes the contents of the verification template, which can be used to create a verification document.

Part G, validation guidance, describes the validation template, which can be used to create a validation document.
