Description of Figure
This chart shows an example of the number of staffed inbound lanes at one gate on Fort Hood to make the comparison of staffing levels prior to gate construction versus optimum staffing after gate construction. Four blocks of time are shown on the x-axis, while the number of staffed lanes is shown on the y-axis. This bar graph represents a before and after comparison, with reductions from six lanes to two lanes from midnight to 5am, seven lanes to six lanes from 5am to 9am, six lanes to 5 lanes from 9am to 3pm, and three lanes (unchanged) from 3pm to midnight. This chart shows how the analysis helped Fort Hood personnel allocate appropriate staffing levels by realistic peak time periods throughout a normal day.
