Traffic BottlenecksCombating BottlenecksDistrict of ColumbiaIdentification of a retaining wall that was causing a capacity restriction. Bottleneck Project: Following a Corsim (microcomputer simulation) analysis of the Whitehurst Freeway corridor, it was identified that the Key Bridge/Whitehurst Freeway/M Street intersection was a capacity constraint. A project is currently under construction (schedule completion: Fall, 2007) through this area, and in conjunction with the southern entrance to Georgetown University, to add a third lane EB. There is need to remove/rebuild a retaining wall. |
