Employers
report a range of reasons and motivations for and benefits from implementing
commuter programs, including
Improving employee morale,
Attracting and retaining skilled workers,
Increasing worker productivity,
Reducing costs, and
Decreasing worker absenteeism.
Some benefits of these programs are more easily quantified than others (reduced demand for parking, absenteeism, and operating costs vs. improved morale), with much evidence showing that the programs have helped meet many specific worksite needs.
