Table 2-8. Top 25 Trading Partners of the United States in Merchandise Trade: 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2011

Canada is this country’s top trading partner followed by China and Mexico. China’s share of trade with the United States more than doubled between 2000 and 2011, from about 6 percent of total merchandise trade to 14 percent. More recently, between 2010 and 2011, the value of U.S. trade with Mexico grew by 17 percent.
