Analysis of Weather-Related Crashes on U.S. Highways

Abstract:

This paper presents results of an analysis of crashes on U.S. highways in poor road weather conditions. The objectives of the analysis were to update a March 2001 report titled "A Preliminary Analysis of U.S. Highway Crashes Against an Exposure Index", and to identify trends in the frequency of weather-related crashes.
