Title:

Predicting Environmental Impact of Deicing Salt: A Modeling Approach

Abstract:

Deicing salt will, at least to some extent, have an impact on the environment. Except for the vegetation, soil and water systems, the salt will also have an impact on for example different constructions and corrosion of vehicles. The definition of environmental effects in this report will only include the nature systems, such as vegetation, soil, groundwater and surface water. It is the objective of this report to make a literature review of different areas that are to be considered when developing a prediction model for quantifying the environmental effects of deicing salt.
