Title:

Siting Guidelines for Road Weather Information System (RWIS) Environmental Sensor Stations (ESS) (Flyer)

Abstract:

This two-page flyer describes the Road Weather Information System (RWIS) Environmental Sensor Station (ESS) Siting Guidelines developed by the FHWA, The Aurora RWIS Pooled Fund Program, and the AASHTO Snow and Ice Cooperative Program. The guidelines provide a set of recommendations to support uniform siting of sensor stations that collect road and weather observations for road weather information systems. The flyer describes topics covered by the guidelines and lists several compelling reasons to adopt the guidelines.
