Road Weather Requirements: Executive Summary

Abstract:

The Surface Transportation Weather Decision Support Requirements (STWDSR) project was completed in two phases. The first phase of the project documented needs for decision suppor by operators and users who must content with weather threaths on the surface transportation system. The second phase defined the high level requirements for decision support to winter road maintenance, and is the basis for on-going development. This executive summary describes the main results of these two phases and their relation to on-going projects.
