Title:

Nighttime Visibility and Retroreflectance of Pavement Markings Under Dry, Wet, and Rainy Conditions

Abstract:

The objective of this research was to determine the nighttime visibility of flat pavement marking tape, patterned pavement marking tape, and wet weather pavement markings tape under dry, wet (just after rainfall), and simulated rain conditions (ongoing one inch per hour rainfall). The measures of effectiveness were detection distances, eye fixation distributions, and the pavement marking retroreflectance.
