Title:

Evaluation of a Fixed Anti-icing Spray Technology (FAST) System

Abstract:

This paper desribes the development of Fixed Anit-Icing Spray Techonology (FAST) systems to apply less corrosive liquid chemical freezing-point depressants on portions of the Brooklyn Bridge. During the first phase of the project, several operational parameters were investigated, including spray pattern, spray angle and spray pressure. Phase ll of this project describes the proposed extension of the FAST system and integtation of a RWIS.
