Description:

The two figures shown the hierarchies of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Chicago Area Transportation Study (CATS). The MTC (top) reorganized its structure into two units, operations and policy. The deputy director of operations and the deputy director of policy both report to the executive director of MTC.

In the CATS hierarchy (bottom), the deputy directors of four functional groups, planning, programming, development, and operations, report to the executive director. Within the operations group, the transportation management, operations analysis, and advanced technologies divisions report to the deputy director of operations.
