4.10 Difficulties in the Incident/Evacuation

The GVW Fire Department headquarters was out of service due to its location within the evacuation zone. It is located within 300 feet of the incident. Apparatus and equipment located at the headquarters was exposed to chlorine vapors and considered a total loss. As a result, the siren system that could have been used to alert residents was not operational. Fire coverage was provided from Fire Station 2.
