Description of Figure

This figure is a graphic overview of the topics covered in the ensuing chapters. This chart is intended to make it easy for the reader to find material that interests or is applicable to them. There are five boxes across the top of the chart. They read as follows: "Sketch Planning; Travel Demand Modeling; HCM/Analytical Models; Simulation Models; Traffic Optimization." There are three boxes on the side of the chart that read: "Chapter 3, Regional Transportation Plans; Chapter 4, Project Development; Chapter 5, Operational Assessments." Each case study is listed in a box placed in the column under the title for the analysis tool that was used within the study. It can be seen that the studies featured in 3.1, 4.1, and 5.1 all used Sketch Planning; 3.2 used Travel Demand Modeling; 4.2 and 5.2 used HCM/Analytical Models; 4.3 and 5.3 used Simulation Models; and 5.4 used Traffic Optimization.
