Researchers at the Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Delaware, and the U.S. Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration have completed a five-year initiative to develop an on-line, interactive tool that analyzes economic and environmental costs for goods movement across rail, highways, and water routes. This tool allows users to select input an origin and destination for a shipment and calculate the optimal route dependent on user-selected optimization factors. |
