Description	A new technology entitled eHighway involving a highway electrification system similar to what is used in modern-day street cars has been proposed for a pilot test on California's Interstate 710. This pilot test hopes to move freight from the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles to inland destinations while saving fuel and reducing emissions. Trucks under this new system would use the overhead electrical lines on equipped routes and can disconnect from the system to run on a hybrid electric system similar to modern hybrid passenger vehicles.
