Freight industry and planning practitioners face multiple challenges in the field, particularly in freight travel demand analysis. From new challenges in incorporating land use and demographic trends to the explosion of big data and rapidly emerging freight technologies, the challenges span across a variety of disciplines (such as transportation, land use planning, and economics) and goods movement industries (such as owners, manufacturers, shippers, and service providers). The FHWA Office of Operations is undertaking an effort to identify best ways to provide practitioners with improved freight travel demand analysis tools to address these challenges. This webinar will feature an interactive discussion between speakers and participants on these challenges and potential solutions. |
