A coalition of Federal, state, and local governments alongside commercial interests demonstrated a partially automated truck platoon on March 8 near the Port of Los Angeles. The partially automated three-truck platoon utilized cooperative adaptive cruise control, forward looking sensors, vehicle-to-vehicle communications to maintain speed and spacing. The three trucks drove 50 feet apart at speeds of 55 miles per hour. |
