This outline map of the 48 contiguous States and insets for Alaska and Hawaii shows tonnage flows on the NHFN. Tonnage is indicated by line thickness for 200,000 tons per year, 100,000 tons per year, and 50,000 tons per year. Highways have many routes shown across the map. The Interstates with the largest tonnage (200,000 tons per year) primarily run through the East Coast and Midwest regions. Interstates with large tonnage flow also stretch across southern States and in California.
