Each line has a data point for 1982, 1986, 1992, 1997, and 1999. The index for very large metropolitan areas was 1.21 in 1982, 1.29 in 1986, 1.34 in 1992, 1.38 in 1997, and 1.4 in 1999. The index for large metropolitan areas was 1.07 in 1982, 1.12 in 1986, 1.18 in 1992, 1.25 in 1997, and 1.28 in 1999. The index for medium metropolitan areas was 1.05 in 1982, 1.07 in 1986, 1.12 in 1992, 1.17 in 1997, and 1.18 in 1999.
