This flowchart is composed of the following steps, which are labeled as either event organizer actions or public agency actions:

  • Submit Permit Application, an event organizer action, leads to both Review Event Date and Time and to Gain Inter-jurisdictional Approval.
  • Gain Inter-jurisdictional Approval, an event organizer action, leads to Issue Permit.
  • Review Event Date and Time is a public agency action. If approved, this step leads to the decision point Street Use Event. If not approved, this step leads back to revising Submit Permit Application.
  • The decision point Street Use Event is a public agency action. If the decision is yes, it leads to Review Event Route. If the decision is no, it leads to Distribute Application to Necessary Agencies.
  • Review Event Route is a public agency action. If approved, this step leads to Notify Bus Transit Service, an event organizer action, which leads to Distribute Application to Necessary Agencies. Review Event Route also can lead to revising Submit Permit Application.
  • Distribute Application to Necessary Agencies, a public agency action, leads to Review Application Material.
  • Review Application Material, a public agency action, leads to both Conduct Meeting of Involved Agencies and Conduct Meeting with Event Organizer.
  • Conduct Meeting of Involved Agencies, a public agency action, leads back to Review Application Material.
  • Conduct Meeting with Event Organizer, both an event organizer action and a public agency action, leads to the decision point Additional Requirements.
  • The decision point Additional Requirements is a pubic agency action. If the decision is yes, it leads to Revise Application. If the decision is no, it leads to Deliver Public Presentation.
  • Revise Application, an event organizer action, leads back to Review Application Material.
  • Deliver Public Presentation, an event organizer action, leads to Issue Permit. It also leads to comments leading to Revise Application.
  • Issue Permit is a public agency action. If denied, it leads to Appeal Decision, an event organizer action. Issue permit also leads to Confirm Personnel Resources.
  • Conform Personnel Resources, an event organizer action, leads to Notify Emergency Services. It also leads to both Determine Staffing and Equipment (a public agency action) and to Secure Parking Areas (an event organizer action), which both lead back to Confirm Personnel Resources.
  • Notify Emergency Services, an event organizer action, leads to Inform Affected Property Owners.
  • Inform Affected Property Owners, an event organizer action, leads to Disseminate Public Advertisement.
  • Disseminate Public Advertisement, an event organizer action, leads to Prepare Operations Plan.
  • Prepare Operations Plan is both an event organizer action and a public agency action. It leads to Conduct Event. It also leads to both Conduct Pre-Event Walk-Through and Prepare Communications Plan (both event organizer and public agency actions), which both lead back to Prepare Operations Plan.
  • Conduct Event, both an event organizer action and public agency action, is the final step.
