Description of Figure 4-2
This figure illustrates a typical time line with overlapping sets of activities. Each system has a progression of elements that follow a particular order. These are Vision to Requirements to Design to Development & Deployment to Acceptance Test Plans. This occurs in the Original System. The overlap is when this same set of elements is repeated with a lag for the Geographic and Functional Expansion. For example, when the Original System is in "Design," the Geographical and Functional Expansion may be beginning its Vision stage. These two activities would be overlapping.
