Conclusion

The National Dialogue on Highway Automation Workshop provided FHWA with diverse input about various issues and opportunities surrounding the integration of automated vehicles into the roadway system. Input provided from participants will inform FHWA policies, research, and programs. Infrastructure design and safety issues were also discussed in the other National Dialogue workshops and will continue to be important in the national conversation to advance roadway automation readiness.
