Title:

The Measurement and Theory of Tire Friction on Contaminated Surfaces

Abstract:

Summarizes results of various studies related to friction characteristics of wet, snowy and icy pavement. Preliminary project showed that modeling constants can be used to differentiate contaminates (water, snow, ice), and that friction levels can be monitored for salting control.
