This report reviews current snow and ice control practicesm, communication of road weather information, and the potential uses of such information in roadway snow and ice control within highway agencies. Presents considerations regarding the location of road weather information systems and discusses possible cost-reduction ranges for implementation. Offers conclusions and recommendations for state and local highway maintenance agencies.
