Title:

How to Integrate Intelligent Audio-Visual Sensor Systems in RWIS

Abstract:

The primary use of intelligent audio-visual sensors is to detect the road condition in order to satisfy the essential need of a road condition sensor. This paper describes the unique projects using neural networks and traffic sound or road images as input to classify road conditions. Results from field tests during winter 1999-2000 are presented with development plans for 2000-2001.
