High Water Warning System: City of Fort Worth, Texas

Abstract:

This document includes an article on an advanced high water warning system deployed in Fort Worth, Texas and a document describing the design of the pilot system. A contractor developed a command and response control system that provided real-time data to city transit authorities. The system was comprised of three sites that measured rainfall and stream levels, a series of relay-controlled warning signs with flashing lights to direct traffic.
