Title:

Final Report of the Operation and Demonstration Test of Short-Range Weather Forecasting Decision Support Within an Advanced Transportation Weather Information System (#SAFE)

Abstract:

The Advanced Transportation Weather Information System (ATWIS) was designed to provide en-route weather forecasts and road condition information to the traveling public. While a number of activities were underway by other groups to operationally test and evaluate metro or urban traveler information systems in the 75 major transportation markets, ATWIS embarked to determine whether it was possible to provide a national standard for statewide or multi-state systems that addressed the long distance and commuter travelers' needs across a wide variety of industries.
