Step 3. Traffic Management Plan Evaluation during Day-of-Event
Assessment: Briefing schedule and location
If Assessment applies:
- Develop briefing schedule as necessary based on traffic management team composition and characteristics of event
Tips/Examples:
- Scheduled briefing meetings may not be required for small-scale events involving few agencies
- Briefing meetings may take place at regular intervals during expected lulls in activity during the event day, at the end of each event day for a multi-day event, and/or at the end of a shift change in the command center
Assessment: Protocol for evaluation and implementation of recommended changes
If Assessment applies:
- Identify ranking representative of each stakeholder agency participating in briefings
- Prepare day-of-event briefing agenda
- Ensure consensus on recommended changes
Tips/Examples:
- Typical agenda items comprising an interagency briefing on real-time conditions and day-of-event activities include: situation status, objectives and priorities, current organization and resource assignments, communications, concerns and related issues, and recommended changes
- Consensus is required to ensure everyone affected is aware of a traffic management plan change and any concerns with the proposed changes are addressed and overcome
