A new 160 mile underground petroleum pipeline from Ohio to Western Pennsylvania will assist in transporting refined oil products from the Midwest to the Ohio and Pittsburgh region. Traditionally, much of the region's oil has come from the East Coast, but recently several East Coast refiners have become idle. Additionally, North Dakota's oil production has tripled in the last three year becoming the second largest oil producing state in the United States and creating a price advantage for the region in comparison to the East Coast. |
