Description The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced that they will be adopting a new Class A CDL theory instruction upgrade curriculum. Previously, the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations required the same level of theory training for those upgrading to a Class A CDL as new CDL applicants. The new rule will require less training to upgrade to a Class A, saving driver trainees and motor carriers $18 million annually.
