Mandated use of Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) went in to effect in December 2017. A side benefit of using ELDs is the new data available to fleet operators. These new data sets make it easier to identify inefficiencies and delays which can lead to improvements in maintenance, scheduling, and staffing.
