The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's leadership introduced a bipartisan bill on September 30, 2015, that would extend the deadline for railroads to implement positive train control (PTC) technology through the end of 2018. The bill would extend the deadline for three years, but also allow an additional two years at the discretion of the U.S. Department of Transportation for railroads facing circumstances beyond their control. |
