Operations News - DetailsTalking Operations Webcast on November 28, 2012: Integrating Ridesharing with Transit - The Current State of Practice This webinar reports on TCRP Synthesis 98: Ridesharing as a Complement to Transit: A Synthesis of Transit Practice. Gail Murray, report author, will describe the findings of her investigation into the ways in which transit agencies are using carpooling and vanpooling to close service gaps and penetrate difficult to serve areas, the issues they are dealing with, and the benefits they are achieving. Two transit agencies will discuss their successful use of ridesharing to complement their services: King County Metro of Seattle, Washington; and the Potomac Rappahannock Transportation Commission of Northern Virginia. A moderated Q & A session will follow to hear speakers exchange thoughts on this important topic and answer questions from attendees. This webinar is being presented by the Ridesharing Institute with the support of NTOC, the Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Association for Commuter Transportation, and the American Public Transportation Association.
