The Mountain-Plains Consortium has published a report investigating the interaction between trucks and other vehicles on rural routes. In particular, researchers used Interstate 80 through Wyoming and Nebraska to develop a statistical model of the relationship between the percentage of trucks on the roadway and crash rates.
