The United States Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD) recently dedicated the California Green Trade Corridor (M-580). This marine highway will eliminate approximately 200 trucks per day on the nearby I-580 by sending barges between the Port of Oakland and the Port of Stockton. When the second phase of this project is completed, officials estimate this marine highway will eliminate approximately 180,000 truck trips per year from the region. |
