The Georgia Institute of Technology and the Council on Competitiveness published a report highlighting a future outlook for manufacturing in the United States based off discussions during a two day meeting held with representatives from industry, labor, government, and academia. This report has found that the U.S. manufacturing industry is currently supporting the slow economic growth and by 2020, growth in the U.S. manufacturing industry will increase freight volumes by 19 percent with truck tonnage increased by 28 percent. |
