FAF2 products released in January 2006 include the 2002 database of tons and value by origin, destination, port of entry or exit for imports and exports, commodity type, and mode. FAF2 estimates are based on the Commodity Flow Survey and 15 studies of commodity movements that are not in the CFS scope. FAF2 is the second generation of FAF, updated to the most recent (2002) Economic Census and improved in scope and method. Because of differences in scope and method, statistics from the original FAF and FAF2 should NOT be compared. |
