Description During the harvest season nearly 30 to 40 percent of the truck traffic on Interstate 80 and its feeder network consist of refrigerated trucks carrying perishable freight such as fruit and vegetables. Utah Department of Transportation's Railroad and Freight Planner describes the importance of Interstate 80 on the food transportation system of both the United States and Canada as well as why Utah is the crossroads of perishable freight movement in the western United States.
